Micro LED,OLED,LCD,LED Display Technology:- Tech Explained


Displays are the most integral part of today's technology world. In our smartphones, the display is the thing which we interact with. Over the years Technologies have evolved From CRT at the Beginning to the latest Micro LED.T he latest technology that we are using on a mass production scale is OLED in TVs & AMOLED in mobile phones.B ut The new Micro LED changes the game totally 
So Let's have a look how does this technology work & what are its advantages over OLED 
How Does LCD, LED, OLED Work?
So basically in every display that you will find right from LCD to Micro LED  the basic smallest unit cell of any display is the pixel.T these pixels in general terms are lit up dots or small light dots which on combining into the whole display from an image or a video on any screen. These pixels switch on & off regularly according to the patterns of the image to be produced. this the basic concept of pixels.
So in An LCD, we have to use a Backlight to lit up the pixels and in this whole system, the energy that we consume is very high as every pixel lits up every time with the help of backlight. The conventional LED technology that we use has conventional Light Emitting Diode which consumes less energy as compared to LCD but still, the pixels are not already lit
While in the OLED that we use for mass production in many TVs it has pixels that are already lit & there is no need of a backlight.( OLED is one step further than the conventional LED that we are still using).But the Problem is that in OLED that the pixels are made from organic compounds and hence have an issue of burning which results into short durability period of the display & and the display cannot last long.

 How Does Micro LED Work?
In Micro LED the basic concept of pixel remains same but here instead of using organic compounds we use inorganic compounds which do not face the issue of burning i.e. if an image has an area which is black the pixels do not turn on and thus result in deeps blacks and good contrast ratio. Now its hard to fabricate a Micro LED display has fabrication here happens per sub-pixels so it is very difficult for Micro LED Display to hit the market just now.M micro LED panels are also modular so each panel can we connected with other panels to form a larger screen. Also, Micro LED can be cut into various shapes, sizes. Samsung & Apple are heavily investing in this technology and reports say Apple will start shipping Apple Watches with these Micro LED displays very soon
