Stock Android Vs Android One Vs Android Go

Stock Android

Stock Android is essentially the basic version of Android that Google includes in its open source project. Stock Android is the kind of Software experience that you can get on Pixel Devices that Google manufactures. It is the software that ships with devices that Google manufactures.

These devices actually get Android directly from Google, so as soon as there’s a change that Google wants to ship out, it comes directly to the phone without delay. The Stock Android is bloatware free that is it doesn't come with any additional apps preinstalled.

AndroidOne

Then there is AndroidOne which was originally introduced for low-end devices but are now found even in Premium Smartphones like Nokia 8.1.

For devices with Android One, Google actually offers software development services to manufacturers. So perhaps a handset maker is good at building hardware, marketing, and has retail experience, but they’re not good at software. In this case, Google offers them Android One and commits to sending updates and security patches for an agreed time period, directly to the handsets.

Android One is found in almost all Nokia Smartphones, Some Motorola phones and Some Xiaomi Smartphones like MI A2.

Android Go Version

And Finally, there is the Android Go Version. This flavor of Android replaces the original Android One programme and is specifically for low-end Budget Friendly devices. It is basically a small cut-down version of Stock Android. So it deliberately has very less pre-installed Apps and has "Lite" or "Go" version of popular apps like Google Maps which are aimed at running smoothly on low-end budget smartphones which cannot process heavy apps that require many powerful resources.

The big difference between Android Go and Android One is that Android Go doesn’t come directly from Google – Google sends it to a maker like Nokia, and then Nokia releases it. This also means that Nokia has to release updates and upgrades when they’re pushed out from Google, adding in a delay that isn’t there with stock or Android One.
