TVs Vs Monitors:-How are they Different?

You might watch TV shows on your computer monitor or play computer games on your HDTV but that doesn't make them the same device. However, they do have a lot in common too. So in this article let's compare Television and Monitor. Keep reading to learn more about how computer monitors and TVs are alike and how they're different.

There are many fundamental differences between a television & monitor as they are made for different purposes. Some of them are given below

TV Vs Monitor: -What is the difference?

Response Time:-Monitors are designed to respond in an instant to any moves you make with your controller – whether that be mouse, keyboard or games pad. On a TV, you’ll notice a slight gap between moving the controller and the display reacting.

Refresh Rate: -Monitors have a higher refresh rate like 144Hz & even 240Hz while the refresh rates of a TV are around 60Hz or 120Hz.The refresh rate is how often a TV changes the image (also known as a "frame") on screen. This is a crucial factor when it comes to gaming.

Color Accuracy:-The color accuracy on a monitor is a very accurate while as a TV is made for entertainment purposes the colors on a TV are very punchy and bright but are not that accurate. Color Accuracy is crucial if you use the screen for purposes like Photo editing or Video Editing.

Resolution:-The resolution of TVs that are available is 4K or even 8K in some high-end TVs but for the monitor, you can get a standard monitor up to 2K.Some monitors of high resolution are available but are not easily available. The resolution of a television or monitor is the number of pixels in each dimension that the TV or monitor can display natively. A pixel is essentially a lit-up square that produces a specific color. The resolution is important for the picture quality aspect, higher the resolution the better picture quality will be depending upon the quality of the content.

Size:-When it comes to size, TVs are generally much larger than computer monitors. HDTVs are often over 50 inches while computer monitors usually remain below 30 inches. In case of a monitor, you can get display options like an Ultra-wide monitor with different aspect ratio, a Tv is available in the standard flat style and common aspect ration while some TVs are curved.

New Display Technologies:-Newer display Technologies like OLED, Quantum Dot can be seen on a Tv but the same technologies are hard to find inside a monitor because a lot of customers are willing to spend high for a television

Conclusion
All in all both of them look the same but are meant for different purposes. So you can swap a TV for a monitor but will have to keep in mind the disadvantages or advantages that come with it. Both of them fulfill certain purposes and make our lives easier.
