LG this year at the consumer electronics show in Las Vegas
showcased a working model of roll-up TV that will go on sale this year in
the US. The TV is quite an interesting solution for the modern homes. So in
this article let's take a look at this dope piece of tech.
It is a display that can roll-up when you want it and just
hides when you don't want it.LG is going several steps further by making the TV
go away completely whenever you’re not watching. It drops slowly and very
steadily into the base and, with the push of a button, will rise back up in 10
seconds or so. It all happens rather quietly, too.
There is support for Amazon Alexa & Google Assistant for
voice commands with LG's Popular WebOS.The new TV now also supports Apple
AirPlay for IOS Users that's good news. The base that unfurls the TV has a
100W Dolby Atmos Speaker System which you can use to play music even when the
TV is hiding inside it.
The TV is powered by the alpha 9 processor and HDMI 2.1
support. You get all of the OLED hallmarks like perfect blacks, great
viewing angles, and a wide mix of vivid HDR color.
There’s also a mode — LG calls it “Line Mode” — where the
display will drop down so that only about one-fourth of the panel is showing.
You’ll still have on-screen music controls and the option to control your smart
home gadgets in this mode. LG also includes some mood-setters like a crackling
fireplace or rain sounds. I’m not sure how much use those will get in the real
world, but it’s a thing you can do with your futuristic rollable TV. The
Television will be priced at a premium level which is a bit of bad news for
tech enthusiast.
