We often see that whenever we use the smartphone or computer for an extended period for heavy high intensive task like high graphic games we experience a dip in the performance of processor.Generally while gaming for a long time we see a lag or frame drops.All this happens due to thermal throttling which protects the processor from burning up.
How Does Thermal Throttling Work
What happens basically is that the sensors on the processors keep a track of the load on the CPU & GPU at the same time they also keep measuring the temperature of the processor.When the temperature of the processor goes above a certain limit the system lowers it performance by decreasing the clock speeds of the processors and thus preventing the processors from burning up.Thus Thermal throttling proves to be a life saver for the processors.
