E-sim :-What is E-sim?,How Does It Work?(Tech Explained)

We are able to see E-sim make its way to India with new 2018 iPhones and apple watch that have dual sim support with the help of E-sim. So let's take a look at how we will use E-sim, what actually E-sim means and how does it work.

What is E-sim?
E-sim stands for Embedded Sim which means a sim which is embedded directly into the smartphones or smartwatches.

How does E-sim Work?
So basically in a physical sim that we use for different network operators, it has a chip that has some memory. On the memory that is on the chip, we store information like ISMi no and some operator data which cannot be overwritten. So here comes the concept of E-sim where the mobile manufactures will embed a chip directly into your smartphone or smartwatch which will have a rewritable memory on the chip. Suppose you want to use it say with a Jio, Airtel, AT&T sim what you can do is you will have to just scan a QR code or will have to install an app login with the details of the sim and number and done all your operator information will get downloaded OTA to the E-sim. So even if you switch your operator the previous data will be erased and new data will get stored. This E-sim is very easy to use. This facility is available in India through Jio and Airtel with the new 2018 iPhones and apple watch (series 3 and 4).
